Just as I promised. Sorry it was a little late.

Day Game

The Beavers had a day game and I went to PGE Park to shoot some and hang out. I didn't have to cover the game, just wanted to spend a nice day at the ballpark. And boy, was it a nice day at the ballpark.

And I got the chance to use my 300mm lens again. I've only used it 3 times since getting it. Saturday it's my turn to cover the Beavers. Hope to get some great shots.

Today's Shoot

I had a shoot in Sumner, WA on Monday. Here's a funny photo that I let a track team do. Check out the kid on the far left. That's the first time someone did that in a "goofy" photo.

Bad Start....Good Ending

What a beautiful day for an outdoor shoot! Did some work today for NSP, Tigard HS. The shoot didn't get off to a good start. Started with some golf. The boys golf team was running a little late so that put me behind schedule. After golf, I had to get to the HS to shoot another sports team. I got to the school late. The coaches were really cool. They didn't seem to mind that I was a little late. After I took the group shot of the squad I had to get mug shots of the seniors and coaches, and then I had to take a photo of each athlete for the booster club buttons, and then I had to take pictures that the kids were paying for. It was a lot of work. Many kids didn't stick around because it was taking too long. Nice Friday afternoon...the last place they wanted to be was there having their pictures taken......

Can you guess what sport these girls are in?

Except for these girls. They were full of energy. They made me forget that the shoot started off bad. I love it when I run into people like this....people that love to get their photo taken. I saw them in the background practicing their buddy picture pose while I was working on the booster club button photos. They were funny. Thanks girls, for being so patient and being great to work with. Also have to thank the head coach. He was great too.

Work

I covered a softball game Tuesday for the Clackamas Review newspaper. The game was called after 5 innings because of the mercy rule. I got the images that I needed early in the game. I knew before hand how the game was going to turn out.

The game gave me a chance to use my 300mm lens that I just got. The lens performed pretty well. This image was taken with the 300mm lens. The real test will come Saturday night when I cover the Portland Beavers.

Photo Shoot #3

DeShaun and I did photo shoot #3 recently. Here are some of the images from that shoot. For those of you that are not familiar with our photo shoots I will explain it. DeShaun had got sick a little while ago. I decided to have a photo shoot with him. He couldn't go outside so I figured we would have some fun taking photos. We had a good time. I took photos of him and he took some of me. The ones of me will never see the web :-)
So whenever we have the time we will have our shoots and I will post some of the images here.

2nd T-Ball Practice

I was able to make it to DeShaun's second practice. It was pretty funny. I enjoyed watching him learn. He seems to be enjoying it and having fun.

Portland Beavers

This season I will be shooting for the Portland Beavers. They're the Triple A team for the San Diego Padres. Thursday I went to PGE Park to meet the communications director and get my media pass. My first game will be Saturday. Here are a few shots I got Thursday night while I was hanging out at the Park.

First Baseball Game of the Season=Blowout

I covered my first baseball game of the season for the Clackamas Review on Wednesday. Oregon City vs. Lakeridge. I stayed until the 6th inning. Talk about a blowout. Lakeridge was winning 17-1. I didn't get much as far as photos. Here is one that I did like though.

And yes he did make the catch.

First T-Ball Meeting

Spring means baseball. In DeShaun's case it means t-ball. This will be his first year playing any sport. He had his first meeting on Tuesday. We got to meet the coach and the other parents and players. I must say, I think I am more excited about it than he is. This is where it all starts. I figure in a few years we will be able to tell if he will be an athlete or not. We are off to a bad start though...LOL!!! The meeting was held in a park with a playground. All he wanted to do was play at the playground. During the whole meeting..."Daddy, can I please go to the playground? PLEASE????" I'm hoping once practice starts (Thursday) he will be into the game. Practices will be at the same park so wish us luck.

After the meeting was over we went over to the playground. DeShaun was having a good time until the ice cream truck came around. He wanted some ice cream but it was dinner time so he wasn't allowed to get any. He wasn't too happy about that. He let loose a few crocodile tears.

After a few minutes of crying it was back to playing.

As the season goes on I will keep everyone posted on his progress. I'll try to post a photo from as many games as I can. Stay tuned!
